Meet Sydney

Sydney Graham
Founder & Artistic Director

Sydney Graham has loved theatre since she first stepped onto a community theatre stage at age 12. StageDoor Inc. became her home away from home. What began as a childhood passion continued throughout middle school, high school, and college, eventually leading her to pursue theatre as both a performer and an educator.

One of the biggest influences on Sydney’s journey was a theatre teacher who made her feel confident, capable, and proud of what she could accomplish. That experience showed Sydney just how meaningful a great theatre teacher can be and inspired her to become that person for other students.

Sydney earned her bachelor’s degree in Theatre with a minor in Education from Sam Houston State University. She went on to spend five years teaching theatre in public schools, where she had the opportunity to help students discover their voices, build confidence, work together, and experience the excitement of performing onstage.

Throughout her teaching career, Sydney saw how much theatre can offer young people, but she also recognized a need for accessible and affordable theatre education outside the traditional school setting. She wanted to create a place where students from all backgrounds could learn the fundamentals of acting, develop confidence, and discover what it feels like to be part of a theatre community.

That vision became Sydney’s Studio of Drama.

Sydney created the studio to give students a welcoming place to learn, perform, and shine while providing the kind of encouragement and positive experience that first inspired her to become a teacher herself.

Sydney currently lives in Katy, Texas, with her fiancé and her cat, Lola. She is incredibly grateful for the support of her family and friends as she takes this exciting next step, turning a lifelong love of theatre into a place where the next generation can find their own love for the stage.
